Then the container sitting where it belongs, the arm lowered, and water getting to the unit. Last, a filter under a year old and correctly fitted, or no filter at all when the house water already runs through reverse osmosis.

Why the door is measured first

The freezer temperature on that list is where this site starts. A freezer door or drawer that lets room air past its gasket holds the compartment above the temperature the ice maker is waiting for, and nothing on the ice maker itself is wrong. We log the temperature, then test the seal. When the seal is the cause, the ice maker needs no part at all.

Reaching it behind a panel

The ice maker sits inside the freezer, so the route to it is the open door or drawer: the basket drawn out to its stop and the container lifted clear.
